China's Lei Jian (Thunder
God's sword) Enterprising Development Corporation, formerly Chengdu
Military Uniform & Quilt Factory of the PLA Air Force, is situated
beside the famous Wu Hou Temple in Chengdu, Sichuan. It is a military
enterprise with a nation-wide reputation.
At present, the corporation has under its administrationfour subsidiary companies, twelve factories, specialized in manufacturing and prosessing of garments, leather, shoes, textile, dyeing and bamboo-works. In addition, the third |
industry- service industry system of the corporation is large in scale covering a variety of services in hotel management, tourism, food and drinking, commercial trade, automobile maintenance, decoration and advertising. The key products, Lei Jian Leather Garments, have won four gold medals in both international and national competitions. In Aug, 1994, they were awarded the National Famous Brand Product. In 1996, it received another honor "Famous Brand Products of Military Enterprises", granted by China's PlA General Rear ServiceMinistry. There are now 24 offices in the six administrative regions in the Mainland China and in Hong Kong and Macao. Centered round these offices, a sales network has been developed through more than 650businesses and enterprises. The products also enjoy a favorable market position in the United Independent states, East Europe, North America and South East Asia.
The further development of market economy proves to be a precious opportunity for Lei Jian Corporation to test its ability in domestic and international markets. Many honors have been given to the corporation. In 1994, it became "China's Star Enterprise"; Sichuan provincial government named it "Outstanding Enterprise" in 1994, CaiWeisu, president and general manager of the corporation, is also considered as a successful enterpreneur. He has won such honors as "China's First Top Ten Outstanding Youth", "Top ten Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs in China" , "Talented Personnel in Military and Civil Industries", "'93 Sichuan Top Ten Personnel." He has been interviewed by many state and military leaders: Jiang Zhe Min, Li Peng, Qiao Shi, Li Reihuan and Zhang Zhen.
